Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) are known as signature injuries for active-duty service members and veterans. Scholars have found that TBI is associated with major mental health conditions, such as major depression, substance abuse, and suicidality. However, despite the injury often leading to mental illnesses being developed, there has not, to this author’s knowledge, been study on the association between TBI and therapy attendance. The current study aims to address this gap and discover if having a TBI impacts the variance in number of psychotherapy treatments recently attended in veteran and active-duty service populations. I performed regression analyses in order to test this question. It was found that those who had sustained an injury to the head were more likely to have attended behavioral health treatments in the last three months.
