Around 8 PM on 3 March 2019, a line of severe thunderstorms moved through Tallahassee, FL producing a nearby EF-3 tornado. It was a rare occurrence because it is only the second EF-3 (or stronger) tornado in Leon County since 1945. This research will describe the conditions that allowed this tornadic storm to develop and be supported. In doing so, it will analyze the forecasts issued, answer why the lead time was so short, and suggest how it could be improved in the future. By identifying the key elements that led to this event, the goal is to help predict future tornado events.
