Florida State University is highly esteemed in Italy and has developed a respectful and collaborative relationship with Florence and Florentines. Because of this students need to keep in mind that although they are American citizens, they are subject to the laws of the nation in which they will be studying and residing. This guide was conceived not only to provide study abroad students with some commonsense tips regarding safety, but also outline FSU Florence Program’s policies and aspects of Italian law. This guide is only one of many steps the FSU Florence Program takes to ensure students’ stay in Italy is a safe and pleasant one. All information is updated annually and produced in accordance with the Federal Jeanne Clery Act of 1990.
