annotated guide to the William F. Cramer collection of solo trombone literature in the Warren D. Allen Music Library at Florida State University

The William F. Cramer Collection of Solo Trombone Literature, housed in the Florida State University Warren D. Allen library, consists of some 250 works. Of these works, over 130 exist only in manuscript, while the remainder have been published in various forms. The Collection contains the works of both American and European composers, especially Eastern European and Russian composers who are relatively unknown in the United States. The author documents the contents of the Collection, annotating those pieces that are not previously annotated in works by Senff, Leisenring, Kagarice, Everett, and Kagarice, et. al. The preface contains a brief synopsis of the manner in which Professor Cramer assembled the Collection, and two appendices contain lists of other works including etudes books and chamber music for trombone that are also found in the Collection. - Abstract
