Alfred Austin writes to Mrs. Stoker stating that it was raining so hard on Wednesday that when he sent her flowers only the strongest and burliest could travel. He inquires if the roses arrived in time for Mrs. Stoker to wear them that evening. Wishes she could see his garden now, as it would look brighter with her in it.
