Description (Abstract)

This part of the documentary covers the mid 1970s through the 1980s and also includes a short clip on the 50th birthday celebration held at the State Capital where the three torches were lit and then walked to Westcott Building for the rest of the birthday celebration. Other highlights from the clip include President Sliger coming into office, the start of the ice cream social, hiring of Bobby Bowden, introduction of Osceola and Renegade, start of the College of Engineering with FAMU, acquiring the Panama City campus, opening of the Film School and the dedication of the Leach Recreation Center. There is dead air time on the tape between 10:05 and 11:05.
