Note(s): The “Fearless Five,” Peggy Barfield (Atchison), Dottie Bryant (McGahagin), Vicki Lewis (Woodward), Jean Lloyd (Berry), and Jeanne Eyman (Smith) became friends soon after their arrival at the Florida State College for Women in 1940. They were known as a daring, lively, fun loving group with little regard for strict campus rules. They were all P.E. majors, and after graduation in 1944, went on to successful careers in education.
