Abstract/Description: We describe the search for evidence of new high energy interactions that can be modelled as contact interactions at the Large Hadron Collider. This search was done using the 8 TeV proton-proton collision data set from the Compact Muon Solenoid detector at the LHC. We interpret the results in terms of a lower limit on the mass scale Λ of the left-left contact interaction model with constructive and destructive interference. The data were found to be consistent with the QCD prediction. The lower limit with constructive interference was found to be Λ > 22.7 TeV, while for destructive interference, it was found to be Λ > 13.9 TeV, both at 95% confidence level.
